"Can you type what I liked in Chattanooga?"

Paolo and Lena really enjoyed their time in Tennessee while I was at a conference there. Waiting on dinner after we got back, Paolo was standing in line looking morose. I asked if he felt okay, and he said, "I just miss Tennessee."

Now Lena wants to share seven things she liked in Chattanooga.

  1. "I like the...aquarium! I liked the jelly fish! And they had a crab thing that there was some glass around it near the crabs. And then there was some little spaces, and we can go under it. So that was number one. What's number two?"
  2. "I liked the horsey (pulling a carriage)! I really liked it because it was nice and furry, standing still and being cute."
  3. "I really liked the hotel. Because it had a comfy couch. And it had Ghostbusters on the TV! Downstairs they had chocolate (chip) muffins and they had milk. And I liked the waffles! Tasty."
  4. "I like the pool! The water was nice and warm. I got to swim all by myself back to Mommy and swimmed across the pool."
  5. "We got to go to the theaters. I liked 'Hey man, don't touch my tag!' That was very the funniest part (in Finding Dory)! 'Hey man, don't touch my tag!'"
  6. "I really liked the TRAIN! It was really, really soft for the seats. Because it was so nice and comfy. I saw houses near it."
  7. "SCIENCE! Discovery Place. I don't remember was at there."
"That's my blog!"

Lena's Letters

I started writing letters for Lena to identify (she's a little obsessed with Endless Alphabet). She got bored at B, but THEN she started to CONTINUE the alphabet! She drew a D (but called it an O). I told her to right "eh," and she DID!

"I not a big girl, I'm a SUPERMAN!"

Lena is wearing big-girl panties today. She rushed out of her room (where she usually hides to poop) distraught that she had pooped in her panties. However, sitting her on the potty, I found the panties dry and clean. So she dismissed me to "go help Bubba."

When she called me back, we rejoiced over the full potty!

"My big girl! You got poop in the potty, and your panties are still clean! My BIG! GIRL!"

Lena looks at me earnestly and quickly exclaims, "Mommy, I not a big girl, I'm a SUPERMAN!"

I could not fault her logic.

Making good choices

Paolo has been having trouble making good choices at school, but after a teacher conference last week, he had 3 smiley days in a row this week. An unfortunate incident with a classmate who couldn't keep his lunchbox to himself led to Paolo's first violent infraction. Daddy went to talk to him at school, and after school we discussed alternative to Paolo's response. We started with his actual choice at the bottom and came up with better and better choices. Paolo illustrated the best choice (say stop)--after illustrating his favorite (punch his spine).

Paolo has trouble with recall, but halfway through the year, he is already where he should be at the end of kindergarten!
